What Is FORGE RUSH in Starsmith Idle? Trigger & Play Pattern

FORGE RUSH is Starsmith Idle's tap-combo: chain taps at the right rhythm to send output soaring. What official text confirms, and what is not yet documented.

How do you trigger FORGE RUSH?

You trigger it by chaining your taps at the right rhythm. The official description is precise about the mechanism and deliberately quiet about the numbers: “Chain your taps just right to trigger FORGE RUSH and send your output soaring.” In practice that describes a sustained, correctly-paced tapping streak — a combo — rather than frantic clicking. When the chain holds, your output multiplies for the rush’s duration.

That is the full confirmed mechanics text. Anything beyond it — exact chain windows, multiplier percentages, duration timers — has never been published by the developer, and as of 2026-08-31 no community measurement exists either (the game is weeks old and strategy content has not formed). Where other sites print specific FORGE RUSH multipliers, they are guessing; this page will not.

What does FORGE RUSH feel like in a session?

The official framing — “send your output soaring” — places FORGE RUSH as the game’s burst layer on top of its idle base:

  1. Idle income runs always, from forges and hammers you have already bought.
  2. Meteor ore drops reward individual attention (tapping the falling ore pays a bonus).
  3. FORGE RUSH rewards rhythmic attention — the output surge compounds whatever your current forge setup produces.

The three layers stack in one direction: the more your forge produces passively, the more each rush is worth. That is why the standard play pattern is “upgrade first, rush second” — triggering a rush with a weak forge wastes the window on a small base.

When should you chase a rush?

No tested schedule exists, so treat these as structure from the mechanic’s shape rather than measured strategy:

  • Rush after a purchase, not before it. The surge multiplies output; a bigger forge turns the same window into more absolute gain.
  • Rush while the game is open anyway. If you are already at the screen to grab meteor ore, the marginal cost of a rush attempt is zero.
  • Do not structure your day around it. The game’s own economy pitch is the idle loop — “bigger forges and sharper hammers that keep producing while you’re away”. Rushes are spice, not the meal.

How does it fit the rest of the progression?

FORGE RUSH is the first system a new player meets, but it stays relevant because it scales: the chain-tap output boost applies to whatever production tier you have reached, from the first anvil taps to the post-Succession climb (the reset layer is explained in Succession). Between rushes, the collection systems — 72 pieces of legendary gear and dungeon expeditions — carry progression while you are away.

Does tapping rhythm matter more than speed?

The wording “chain your taps just right” points to rhythm over raw speed — a chain implies sustained, correctly-spaced taps. Beyond that reading, the timing window has not been published.

Is FORGE RUSH a limited-time event?

No. It is listed in the game’s standard feature set on its listing page — a permanent mechanic, not a seasonal event. Event-style confusion is common because the phrase reads like a promotion.
